about

The Bar-Steward Sons were kindly invited to play at Beautiful Days, the independent music festival organised by The Levellers, alongside other amazing acts such as Frank Turner, PiL, Bellowhead, Reel Big Fish, Billy Bragg, Richard Thompson and Toots & The Maytals. Needless to say, we were rather chuffed to be there and made it our personal mission to ensure that the entire festival knew we were there, despite being on the smaller 'Dirty Davey's Band Stand' stage.

Noticed, we certainly were, as not only did the audience continue to grow in size during the set, but we finished with a rip-roaring crowd-surf-tastic rendition of Jump Ararnd, which even got Simon Friend from the Levellers out of his seat, jumping around with the rest of the crowd! Definitely a highlight of the band's six-year career to-date and a magical moment that we'll never forget!

A huge thanks to Amanda, Hannah and Kay, John Bownas for booking us, the mysterious Silver Man, Simon Friend and the rest of the Levellers, and all of the lovely people who were in the crowd that got involved in the madness, either during this particular set, our equally mental evening set, or the two impromptu Big Red Coffee Bus shows we did after the headliners had finished on the main stage on the Friday and Saturday nights.
