about

By the power of Facebook, we we made an appeal to musicians, producers, DJ's and sound technologist friends of the band to create their own remixes of our 2013 version of Jump Ararnd. We were extremely fortunate to have the greatest band in the universe behind us, featuring the marvelous talents of Maartin Allcock (Jethro Tull/Fairport Convention/Beth Nielsen-Chapman), Eliza Carthy, Mike Harding, Graham Oliver (Saxon), Hugh Whitaker (The Housemartins) & The Doonitic Choir.

The majority of the original track was recorded at Studio 24 in Barnsley by Brett Jackson, but Maartin Allcock recorded his parts at his home studio in Harlech, Wales, Mike Harding did the same at his home in Settle, North Yorkshire, Andy Doonican played his 12-string parts at Scott's house, and with some help of Scarborough Campus music tech students at Hull University we were able to track Eliza Carthy's fiddle parts. The wonders of modern technology, eh?

The contributing remix artistes were given access to the original master tracks used on the record and were given the freedom to create their own mixes of the track. This is the first time I have ever dared to let people have such freedom with BS/VD's output. The resulting mixes are stunning, varied, mad, and visionary to say the least. This album is the results of their hard work.

A big shout out to all of the fantastic people who donated their tracks and time and effort. You made me one very proud Bar-Steward.

Peace, love & understanding
Scott Doonican
