about

Many believe that The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican launched their 'Sat'day Neet Fever' album at a sold-out show at the Lamproom Theatre in Barnsley that took place in the evening of Sat 2nd Feb 2013 (a date that coincided with Val Doonican's 86th Birthday). However on the afternoon of the same day, the band turned up to play a Facebook-organised 'invite-only' secret ukulele gig at Jim's Records on Summer Lane in Barnsley to an audience of 30 hand-picked Doonifans for the 'official launch'! The resulting show was captured on video for the special features disc of the band's 'Sat'day Neet Live' DVD but is now available here as Vol. I of the Jim's Records tapes...

For those that came to either or both of the shows... thank-you, we had a blast!

A special thanks to Jim for allowing us to take-over his store for both of the shows.

Why not call in at Jim's Records at Modern House, Summer Lane, Barnsley, where you can browse the many excellent records over a brew and a chat with Jim...
Call him on 07824 33391 for opening hours.

Hailing from Barnsley Rock City in't north, The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican are determined to follow in their father's immortal footsteps.
