In August 2019, The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican were asked to stage 'The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican's Sunday Service' at the Big Top at Beautiful Days Festival.
We were expected to play a 55 minute set and invite a bunch of musical friends to join us on stage, with absolutely no rehearsal whatsoever.
The ensuing 55 minutes was a genuine seat-of-the-pants rollercoaster of mayhem, with special appearances from Mojo Doonican, Stu and Ash from The Sweetchunks Band, Amanda White, Lizzie Morris and Claire Howe, Josie and Lily Burdette from Black Thorn, Kathryn Roberts, Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs, Samantics, Funke and the Two-Tone Baby, Hannah Johns from The Leylines, Ghosts of Men, Athene Roberts from 3 Daft Monkeys, Roy Harter and many more!
